About Meridians

An independent international magazine covering technology, money, shopping, travel, home and life.

What Meridians is

Meridians is an independent consumer magazine. We report on the products, services and rules that shape everyday decisions, and we publish buying advice grounded in testing and primary sources rather than press releases.

We are international by design. Consumer rules, prices and availability differ by market, and we say which market a piece of advice applies to rather than assuming one.

How we are organised

Our work is published by editorial desks rather than under personal bylines: the Meridians Tech Desk, Money Desk, Travel Desk, Reviews Desk, Home Desk and Life Desk. A desk byline means the piece was produced and checked to the standards of that desk.

How we make money

Meridians is funded commercially so that our reporting can stay free to read. Revenue may come from three sources: display advertising shown alongside our articles, affiliate commissions when a reader buys through certain links, and sponsored content or commercial partnerships.

None of these arrangements decide what we cover or what we conclude. Advertisers and affiliate partners get no sight of, or say over, an article before publication, and no commercial relationship can buy a place in a ranking or change a verdict.

  • Affiliate links never cost the reader more; the commission is paid by the retailer.
  • Sponsored content and commercial partnerships are clearly labelled as such and are kept visually and editorially separate from our reporting.
  • Advertising is labelled and sold independently of the editorial desks.
  • Editorial conclusions, rankings and reviews are decided by our desks alone.

Where we are today

Meridians is in its founding phase. Rather than filling the site with placeholder content, sections that are not yet published are shown as in preparation. Every article you can read here is original work with its sources listed.
