CPSC Tells Owners of Two Pressure Washer Brands to Stop Using Them Immediately

HOTFINE and Le Hao Tool pressure washers lack basic shock protection, the agency says — the latest in a string of similar warnings this year as fall cleanup season begins.

The short answer

  • The CPSC issued stop-use warnings for HOTFINE and Le Hao Tool electric pressure washers, both missing a ground-fault circuit interrupter (GFCI) near the power plug that guards against electrocution.
  • Le Hao Tool sold about 3,100 units on Amazon between November 2023 and January 2026; the company promised refunds in April 2026 but CPSC says it stopped honoring that commitment.
  • HOTFINE units sold on Amazon and eBay for $75 to $160; CPSC has not published a specific unit count, and the importer has not responded to the agency's outreach.
  • No injuries have been reported for either brand, but CPSC says both pose a risk of death or serious injury from electrocution and shock.

If you bought a pressure washer online under the HOTFINE or Le Hao Tool name, the CPSC wants you to stop using it today, not just watch for a recall notice in the mail. Both brands are missing a basic piece of shock protection, and in one case the company already broke a promise to make it right.

The defect: no GFCI

A ground-fault circuit interrupter, or GFCI, is meant to cut power the instant it detects a leak in current — the kind that happens when water and electricity mix near a plug. Both the HOTFINE and Le Hao Tool washers lack an integrated GFCI on or near the power plug. CPSC's language for both: the missing protection creates "a risk of death or serious injury due to electrocution and shock."

The two brands

  • HOTFINE: gray, black, and green units sold on Amazon.com and eBay.com for $75 to $160, with four nozzles and a foam cannon included; the manufacturer, Shenzhen Wanyuheng Technology, has not responded to CPSC's recall requests
  • Le Hao Tool: about 3,100 units, green or blue with black trim, roughly 25 by 12 by 11 inches, sold exclusively on Amazon.com from November 2023 through January 2026; front label reads "ELECTRONIC High Pressure Washer"

A recall that stopped being honored

Le Hao Tool actually announced a recall with full refunds back in April 2026. CPSC says the company later stopped honoring that commitment, and that some consumers who did reach out received unauthorized replacement units instead of the refunds they were promised. That's what pushed CPSC to escalate to a direct stop-use warning rather than let the original recall run its course.

If you have either of these washers: stop using it, unplug it, cut the power cord, and dispose of the unit rather than reselling or giving it away. CPSC asks that any incidents be reported at SaferProducts.gov.
