Trust & standards
Editorial independence
The wall between commercial and editorial.
The rule
Advertisers, affiliate partners and sponsors have no influence over what we cover or what we conclude. They receive no advance sight of editorial content, and cannot request removal or amendment of coverage.
How it is enforced
The separation is structural, not a matter of goodwill.
- Commercial staff do not commission, edit or approve editorial content.
- Editorial desks are not given commission or revenue targets.
- Sponsored content is produced outside the editorial desks and labelled on the page.
- Ad placement is category-level; advertisers cannot buy adjacency to a specific verdict.
Conflicts
Where a piece touches a company with a commercial relationship with Meridians, that relationship is disclosed within the article.
