Trust & standards

Editorial standards

The rules our desks work to.

Sourcing

We prefer primary sources: legislation, regulator publications, official standards bodies, company filings and manufacturer documentation. Where we rely on secondary reporting, we name the publication and link it.

We do not publish specifications, prices, ratings or quotations that we cannot attribute to a source. Where a figure changes frequently — prices in particular — we point to the source rather than freezing a number that will be wrong within weeks.

Attribution and bylines

Meridians articles are bylined to editorial desks. We do not invent author personas, biographies or photographs. A desk byline is a statement of accountability: the desk stands behind the work.

Labelling

Opinion is labelled opinion. Sponsored and partner content is labelled as such, sits visually apart from editorial, and is never produced by our editorial desks. Advertising units are labelled 'Advertisement'.

AI use

We do not publish machine-generated articles as editorial work. Where automated tools assist with research, transcription or formatting, a human editor is responsible for every published claim.
