The show's biggest edition yet runs September 17-21 in Chiba, with Sony and Square Enix confirmed and Xbox holding its own broadcast the same week. Nintendo, as usual, isn't there.

GamingThe short answer
- Tokyo Game Show 2026 runs September 17-21 at Makuhari Messe — its first-ever five-day format, marking the event's 30th anniversary.
- 759 exhibitors are confirmed, 484 domestic and 275 international, across 3,946 booths.
- Sony Interactive Entertainment, Square Enix, Sega, Koei Tecmo, Konami and Capcom are all exhibiting; Nintendo is sitting it out, as it typically does.
- Xbox will hold a separate broadcast and Tokyo FanFest event on September 17, though coverage previewing it says not to expect a reveal on the scale of last year's Forza Horizon 6.
Tokyo Game Show turns 30 this year, and organizers marked the anniversary by expanding it to five days for the first time — September 17 through 21 at Makuhari Messe, under the tagline The Longest Five Days of Nonstop Play.
The scale of it
- 759 total exhibitors: 484 domestic, 275 international
- 3,946 booths across Exhibition Halls 1-11 and the International Conference Hall
- Business days September 17-18 (10:00-17:00); public days September 19-20 (9:30-17:00) and September 21 (9:30-16:00)
Who's actually showing up
Sony Interactive Entertainment, Square Enix, Sega, Koei Tecmo, Konami and Capcom are all confirmed exhibitors. Nintendo is absent, which is typical for the company — it rarely exhibits at Tokyo Game Show regardless of what it has in the pipeline.
Xbox is doing its own thing nearby
Xbox will hold a Tokyo Game Show broadcast on September 17 at 7 p.m. Japan time (5 a.m. PT / 8 a.m. ET / 11 a.m. BST), paired with a free Tokyo FanFest event for eligible Japan-based attendees. Xbox's TGS broadcasts have a track record of major reveals, including last year's unveiling of Forza Horizon 6, though coverage previewing this year's show says not to expect something on that scale.
