CCM Recalls Nearly 13,000 Hockey Visors That Can Crack on Impact

The FMHVR Hybrid Visor and its replacement shields were sold at Pure Hockey, Play It Again Sports and other retailers for up to two years before the recall. Free replacements are available now, no receipt required.

The short answer

  • CPSC has recalled about 12,957 CCM FMHVR Hybrid Visors and ACCHVR replacement visor accessories after finding the shields can crack on impact.
  • The products were sold from May 2024 through April 2026 at Monkey Sports, Play It Again Sports, Pure Hockey, independent sporting goods stores and CCM's own site, for $55 to $120.
  • No injuries have been reported. CCM is offering free replacement visors (FV1, FM780 or FM580 models) through participating retailers.
  • Consumers can identify affected units by serial number: hybrid visors starting with M/L or S/M, replacement visors starting with SR.

CCM Hockey has recalled approximately 12,957 FMHVR Hybrid Visors and ACCHVR replacement visor accessories after determining the shields can crack on impact, posing a laceration or impact injury risk to players.

The visors were sold from May 2024 through April 2026 at Monkey Sports, Play It Again Sports, Pure Hockey, independent sporting goods retailers, and online at us.ccmhockey.com. The Hybrid Visor sold for about $120; the replacement visor accessory for about $55. No injuries have been reported.

How to tell if you have a recalled visor

  • FMHVR Hybrid Visors with a serial number beginning M/L or S/M are affected
  • ACCHVR Replacement Visor Accessories with a serial number beginning SR are affected
  • The serial number is printed on the visor itself, near the mounting hardware
  • Products purchased outside the May 2024 to April 2026 window are not part of this recall

How to get a free replacement

CCM is offering free replacements through any participating retailer that carries the brand — no receipt is required. Consumers can choose between the FV1 full visor, or the FM780 or FM580 combo cage as alternatives. Anyone without a nearby participating retailer can contact CCM directly for a prepaid return envelope.

The recall is filed under CPSC recall number 26-716. The visors and accessories were manufactured in China and imported by CCM Hockey U.S., Inc., based in Maple Grove, Illinois.
