The short answer

  • We buy or borrow test units on our own terms; we do not accept payment for coverage or for a favourable verdict.
  • Every review states what we tested, for how long, and what we could not test.
  • Where our picks are not yet researched, we say so rather than filling the page.
  • Affiliate links, where they exist, are disclosed and never influence a verdict.

Most buying advice online is written to rank, not to help. The distinguishing feature of a publication worth reading is not the verdict, it is whether the process behind the verdict is written down and consistently applied.

What a Meridians review contains

  • The test period, and the conditions of testing.
  • The comparison set — what else we looked at, and why those products.
  • The measured or observed evidence behind each claim.
  • An explicit list of what we did not or could not test.
  • Who the product is for, and equally who should not buy it.

Independence

Advertisers and affiliate partners have no input into editorial decisions, no advance sight of verdicts, and no ability to have coverage amended or withdrawn. Commercial content is separately labelled and produced outside the editorial desks.

Why some pages say 'in research'

When a category is on our schedule but testing is not complete, the page says so. We would rather show an honest gap than a placeholder recommendation, because a placeholder recommendation is indistinguishable to a reader from a real one.

Corrections

If we get something wrong we correct it on the page, note what changed, and date the change. Our full policies are linked in the footer.
