The short answer

  • CPSC and Cooluli recalled about 250,000 10-liter and 15-liter minifridges sold between January 2019 and October 2024 for $80 to $120.
  • An electrical switch defect can short-circuit the units; the companies have logged 19 reports of smoking, sparking, melting or fire, one smoke-inhalation injury, and over $80,000 in property damage.
  • Affected products span the Infinity, Classic, Glow Beauty and Vibe lines, sold through Amazon and Cooluli.com.
  • No return is required: Cooluli will mail owners a free replacement DC power cord and a sticker that permanently covers the fridge's AC port.

Cooluli and the Consumer Product Safety Commission recalled roughly 250,000 minifridges on August 13, 2026, after the company logged 19 reports of units smoking, sparking, melting, overheating or catching fire. One person suffered a smoke-inhalation injury, and the incidents have caused more than $80,000 in property damage.

What's wrong with them

The recalled minifridges use an electrical switch that can short-circuit, creating fire and burn hazards. The defect affects the 10-liter and 15-liter sizes across Cooluli's Infinity, Classic, Glow Beauty and Vibe series, sold in a range of colors and patterns.

Which units are covered

  • 10-liter and 15-liter Cooluli minifridges from the Infinity, Classic, Glow Beauty and Vibe lines
  • Sold on Amazon.com and Cooluli.com from January 2019 through October 2024
  • Priced between $80 and $120

What to do if you own one

  1. Stop using the minifridge immediately and unplug it
  2. Cut the power cord so it can't be plugged in again
  3. Go to cooluli.com/pages/product-notices-recalls and enter your model and batch number to confirm it's affected
  4. Submit photos of the unit as instructed, and Cooluli will mail a free replacement DC power cord plus a sticker to permanently cover the AC port
  5. Call Cooluli at 718-834-5312 (Monday-Friday, 8 a.m.-5 p.m. ET) with questions
